Tool - Parabol + Parabola [HQ]

Download videos:

One of my favorite songs. So familiar and overwhelmingly warm This one, this form I hold now. Embracing you, this reality here, This one, this form I hold now, so Wide eyed and hopeful. Wide eyed and hopefully wild. We barely remember what came before this precious moment, Choosing to be here right now. Hold on, stay inside... This body holding me, reminding me that I am not alone in This body makes me feel eternal. All this pain is an illusion. We barely remember who or what came before this precious moment, We are choosing to be here right now. Hold on, stay inside This holy reality, this holy experience. Choosing to be here in This body. This body holding me. Be my reminder here that I am not alone in This body, this body holding me, feeling eternal All this pain is an illusion. Alive, I In this holy reality, in this holy experience. Choosing to be here in This body. This body holding me. Be my reminder here that I am not alone in This body, this body holding me, feeling eternal All this pain is an illusion. Twirling round with this familiar parable. Spinning, weaving round each new experience. Recognize this as a holy gift and celebrate this chance to be alive and breathing. This chance to be alive and breathing. This body holding me reminds me of my own mortality. Embrace this moment. Remember. we are eternal. all this pain is an illusion.

One does not simply listen to Parabola without Parabol
Last 3% battery life well spent
Not hearing parabola afterwards parabol is like a coitus interruptus.

I can honestly say Tool has changed the way I view life. Specifically this song. You don’t listen to Tool. You experience them.

How does Tool make a 9+ minute song not seem near 9+ minutes long. Magic that's how.......Tool are magic!
let us all celebrate this chance to be alive and breathing
I've never been to a Tool concert but I'd imagine this would be a fucking great way to start.
I'm 30 years old and I've only started listening to Tool. What is wrong with me?

Tool - Parabol + Parabola = Toola
Just came here cause is good for mood, soul and life.!
Part of my healing process after her! 😖
Brinley Pavitt
Tool could probably be the best band that ever existed.
The lyrics just suddenly clicked. I think it's about telling people to hang in there, we all have suicidal thoughts, and he's telling us to celebrate to be alive and breathing in this holy reality. Man, that brought tears to my eyes, lol.

Tools music is healing. PTSD is a motherfucker. Guilt, disassociated behavior, anger, depression, sadness, memories.......I pretty much understand as an artist point of view anything that is written by tool.
Justin Pearrow
this isn't just a song. this is a masterfully composed, powerful, and moving piece of artwork. period.
Fascinating song. After listening to it for the first time in years I thought about the meaning of this song and I'd like to share that with you and hear what you guys think: 0:00 - 0:24 These quiet notes signify that which was before bodily existence, before conception and birth. In the imagery of a parabola, this is what lies outside of the picture. Slowly coming into material existence. 0:24 - 3:04 The rest of Parabol signifies the period when a person is child-like, not yet capable of self-reflection or questioning one's own existence, hence the peacefulness. However, it also the signifies the period in which one slowly moves away from their natural, spiritual state and starts to identify more and more with the material world, to the point that one no longer remembers "what came before this precious moment." One observes this pattern in the first, downward slope of a parabola. Also note the softness and hesitation in the words "Choosing to be here in...", is one really choosing, or just being led along by fate? We'll come back to to this. 3:04 - 4:29 Parabola kicks off with violence and turmoil. The consequence of man traveling too far from his natural state of being. The result is doubt, fear, anger, depression, pain. Man has not only come to the conclusion that the material reality is the only reality, but also that it is a wicked reality that causes only pain. Blaming the material world only brings man further into this dark illusion. The inevitable crisis. 4:30 With the word 'Alive' spoken at exactly the halfway mark of the song, corresponding with the vertex of a parabola, man liberates himself from the illusions that had nearly drowned him. 4:30 - 5:35 Note the determination in the words "Choosing to be here in...", signifying man made the choice to live and no longer be a slave to what he perceives as his fate and misfortune. 5:35 - 8:40 Following the casting off of his shackles, man starts to see the world for what it really is. A new experience, part of a wider, eternal existence. This realization is further underlined by the words "We are eternal", where in previous sections it stated "This body makes me feel eternal" and "feeling eternal." Now man IS, and KNOWS. Man has seen through the veil of the human condition and started a return to his source, signified by the second, upward slope of the parabola. 8:40 - 9:02 The return to the source, presented with the same quietness as the start of Parabol. Slowly man once again fades out of material existence, back into the well of eternity from which he sprung. Let me know what you guys think, or if you have things to add. I'm sure there is even more symbolism within this song.

Just gonna put this here, even if no ones gonna read it I'd like to thank everyone in Tool for helping me in some dark times, and making me feel powerful. Not that kinda powerful, just, making me realize I'm more powerful than my own mind, and helping me realize I could and CAN get through this. These two are my personal favorite songs from Tool, and definitely my most listened song in my toughest times. "All this pain is an illusion."
Pyper Smoak
I absolutely love how the Tool comment sections are so peaceful and well spoken. Oh my, goosebumps at the drop

Everyday I listen to this song and everyday it gives me chills and energy. Tool is a masterpiece full of messages
This song is what church should be like imo – no pretense or hyperspiritualized bullshit – just people coming together in a precious moment, decoupled from their pain, and reminding eachother that they aren’t alone.
The bassist of my band kept telling me to listen to Tool for years and then I finally bought a copy of Lateralus. It stayed on repeat in my car for a week and then I proceeded to buy all their other material. I have never been so obsessed with a band like this before and I'm glad that every other tool fan feels the same way
I remember back when this album first released my pot dealer gave it to me in exchange for a copy of Stainds album Break the Cycle. I went home with a dub sack of weed and a burnt copy of Lateralus and I discovered Tool for the first time in my life. That night I sat in a corn field and smoked weed by myself for hours and listened to this album and my life was changed forever. Lateralus will always hold such a special spot in my heart. I wish I could relive that night again.

When I first discovered this I was in my rebellious teenage phase and I used to stay up late into the night, sitting under the dining room table with my ipod while everyone else was asleep. I still remember the night I discovered Lateralus, then Parabol/Parabola. I found a lyric music video that explained the concept of the "shadow" and felt so lucky/enlightened lmao. I wish I could return to that time.

At thier live concert 7:40, I saw and FELT everyone smoothly come to a standstill, then start to sway and vibrate with the riffs coming up through the groun, and rippling through the air! It increased in intensity until I felt like I was floating in a trimming field of static, hair standing on end, sound waves colliding with my face. I just burst out gleefully laughing my ass off and the people around me did the same. Its incrediblevwhst sound can do to the body
Troy Snyder
"This Body, Holding Me, Reminds ME of MY Own Mortality. Embrace This Moment. Remember; We ARE Eternal, But This Pain IS An Illusion" You just Gotta keep on keeping on! You are the Master of your own Destiny/Fate. Mortality/Pain is only Temporary, but your soul/consciousness/being is ETERNAL!
both these will be played at my funeral. like change tool has maintained a constant.
The groove in Parabola is undeniable. It lifts me to my feat every time. Impossible to be still when listening
Parabola is Parabol 2.0
The lyrics of this song relate hilariously well with Dark Souls.
Zak Jackson
I tear up every time I hear this song. So raw, so powerful... And so fucking prophetic. Thank the Source for Tool... They have saved my life on multiple occasions.
Live by the words spoken within this song.. and life will be okay. This song played a major part in me getting sober. Once a junkie floating aimlessly through life. I found a purpose and tool gave me the proper tools to get through a lot of lifes constant struggle's. I know they will never read this on here, but from the bottom of my heart, thank you. They say a picture can tell a 1000 words. Well here's a new saying.. They say a tool song can have a 1000 different meanings. Find one for yourself and apply it to your life.

I just discovered this band not too long ago.. ugh where has this been all of my life? This song is a pure masterpiece. It really makes the emptiness inside me feel not so empty.
Unfortunately, the sheer genius of Tool won't be realized until 2050

Living in AZ for 8 years, 1999 to 2007 this band has a huge cult following in PHX. The radio stations always helped us out back then before YouTube playing as many Tool songs as they could. Loving everything Tool , I recode in Texas and see them when they come to Houston. And I am waiting for this new album to stay in my CD player in car and home until it melts
Jesse Plumley

Its 2 ways of viewing life. Parabol is accepting that we are human and that fact is comforting as we are able to feel. Parabola is believing that the mind or soul amounts to something greater and that what we feel is an illusion.
Connor Phebus
Tools music always makes me feel like I'm falling down a spiraling whirl pool of dank sound.
